Very interesting and helpful. Thanks for sharing:)

Don't blame me for making bigger vi's as I'm always in learning mode.

Laton,

The Silver controls are not available in LV2010. (The gradient Decorations used by their parts did not exist in previous versions).

I don't know of a tutorial specific to customizing the cluster appearance, but the general approach would be to edit the cluster in the Control Editor and replace the image in the Frame part with another Decoration.

Hi there, any chance to get a Silver downloadable package that could be installed for LV2010?

BTW, is there any tutorial explaining how to modify the appearance of the cluster control? I want to remove the 3D-shaded box by something flatter, but i cannot figure out how to do it...
Thanks!

Hi Mark,

The Silver buttons use icons from the Open Icon Library: http://openiconlibrary.sourceforge.net/

In particular, they use PNGs from the Public Domain package.

Please let me know if you need any help! And please also consider sharing the buttons you make with the Community.

Hi Christina,
We have now used "Silver" for the first time, making a beautiful and simple UI for an enduser.
But, I miss a UNDO and REDO button in the Silver palet.
I remember from NI Week 2011 that you told about the Icons you used, but I forgot where to find them so I can make my own buttons. Where are they located?

I believe that "m" is the mechanical action of the button (pressed or not pressed), "v" is the value of the button (true or false) and "rd" shows points where the button's value is read.

Great job, looks beautiful!

I have an off topic question that you are just the person to answer. What do those pictures on the Boolean mechanical action mean? Specifically, if you look at the latch, you'll see that it shows "m" "v" and "rd". What is that "rd" thing?

Wouter - Thanks! I'll pass that along to the design team!

dc - Thanks! The Silver controls use new decorations that weren't available in previous versions, so when they're saved for previous, those decorations change into simpler images. The controls still function, but they don't look the same.

Nicely done! What is preventing them from displaying properly when used in a VI "saved for previous version", say LV 2010?
